A Problem of Frogs - Part 3

In the middle of all this chaos, two frogs - oh, let's call them Hoppy and Jumper - were busy at another "destructive" act: the act of falling in love. Hoppy was a handsome young toad who had, up to now, lived life as a loner. Hoppy cared about only one or two things in this world. One of them was eating children and another thing was enjoying life alone. An evening behind the drum kit followed by a TV dinner and a DVD was just fine for Hoppy. Just fine, indeed. That is, of course, until Jumper jumped into the picture. Fom that fateful afternoon on, these two would be at one another's side constantly. Unbeknownst to Hoppy, however, Jumper had a secret.

Jumper's story was a normal one. Asexually produced from a fifteenth-generation mutant frog, Jumper spent much of adolescence swallowing children and destroying civilization only to eventually find a career in computers. Happiness seemed always just out of tongue's-reach.

When Jumper and Hoppy were together, nothing else seemed to matter to either of them. They had a wonderful relationship - on the surface anyway. Friends were unaware of the deep, troubling issues that these two gregarious frogs dealt with in private. Turmoil? Buddy, you don't know the half of it, sister.
