The problem with Smitty was not his purple pupils or the nickel that he flipped constantly, it was those green jeans. He washed them by hand every night so they were always relatively clean. However, they were very shiny and that made people squint and block their eyes and made them forget what they were going to say or do or say and do. This was a problem with several people, most direly with Sunny and Robert Ficks, the Chair and Co-Chair of the Fiddler's Quarantine, a non-profit which helped find temporary housing for down-on-their-luck members of the International Violinists Guild.
