in the ice floes
early cobs of corn grow winsome
they'd like a wash of warm rain
and a double shot of harrison
oh, belt buckles
carmelized scaffolds
humdrum imported lozenges
there are damp hearts here
clouds filled with table wine
ruinous, rumpled, leaky
but the trimmings on the flip
are fatty
you could say
the oils have arrived
step back
then even more
now what do you see?
a little showbox
showing reflections of breezes
and momentary fizzes:
your inheritance
i know it doesn't translate well
at any rate
see you again
in the summer of '78
(just pretend you're made of hot cement)
