Hand-based greetings are most often attempted in a hasty manner with no regard for style or form. To me this is unacceptable. The hand is a sacred object - oracle of our destiny, keeper of our fate. If two being's hands are to meet in greeting they must connect with one another in a way that allows them to fully communicate, reciprocate and celebrate. This holds most true for the spirited greeting called Gimme Five. If you heed my six simple rules for the Gimme Five, I guarantee you will experience a greeting both spirited and spiritual:
1. Extend your Mercury, Apollo, Saturn and Jupiter fingers so as to be parallel with you Plain of Mars.
2. Angle your Will at a 45 degree angle and raise your hand so your Head Line is parallel to your eyes.
3. Connect with your greeting partner visually. Let your gaze linger for at least 5 seconds, so as to confirm not only intent, but also your dominance in the greeter/greetee relationship.
4. Move your hand down quickly so that your Top Phalange makes contact with both the greetees Mount of Luna and Mount of Venus simultaneously. At the same time your Mount of Luna and Mount of Venus should be making contact with the greetees Top Phalange.
5. Slide your hand along your partner's, making sure that the following points meet: Middle Phalange to Head Line, Girdle of Venus to Girdle of Venus, and Base Phalange to Base Phalange.
6. Finally, make sure as your palms are separating, to grasp one another's Top Phalanges ever so slightly so as to create a pleasant "hooking of the tips" sensation.
When complete, a verbal exchange is common, but not required. A simple "yeah..." will suffice or even a quick wink to confirm greeting completion.
Give it a try next time you encounter a willing partner. I'm convinced, if done properly, you will find the exchange both entertaining and enlightening. Good luck!
