New band alert. Lord knows there must be a zillion bands. How do we know which ones are great? We need to hear via word of mouth sometimes. I have heard via the grapevine that this new band is a real powerhouse. They are a mother daughter synth team called Me & Mommy. They hail from Brooklyn Park and are coming at music hard and with a real gusto. Like a damaging wind is bringing them into the city and they are leaving all the cars and houses in the area pecked and pocked with a giant amount of hail damage. On the left is the Mommy (synths, left handed badmitten racquet turned sample triggerer) and on the right is Daughter (aka Me) (blackened bongos, venetian blinds, lead pipe, dry corn shaker, sequencer, & vocals).
I have yet to see them live but from what I've heard they come into the club with their hats pulled down and work the crowd up into a frenzy and then remove their hats and their hair falls down in piles all about the room - their hair is LONG. Gorgeous, healthy hair, all in piles and coils. Can't tell where it ends and where it begins. And the music surrounds everyone like a vice squad. Can't tell if you are surrounded by rainbows or what but it surrounds the senses until you can't tell what is being sensed.
Look out for Me & Mommy!
